An historic building located in the heart of Pincher Creek dedicated to Cultivating Creativity in Southwest Alberta. Once a single family home turned hospital, the Mansion is now opperated by the Allied Arts Council of Pincher Creek. Features include an Art Gallery and Gift Shop proudly representing local artists and makers from across Southern Alberta and BC as well as an active Ceramics Guild working in the large basement studio. Visitors to the Bassano Dam will find a scenic viewpoint of the dam and the river valley complete with a picnic area. Group tours of the dam can be arranged through the EID office and there is some excellent fishing found below the dam. Construction of the dam commenced in 1910 with the official dam opening taking place on April 24, 1914. Building of the dam was a major undertaking, requiring 300,000 cubic meters (10 million cubic feet) of earthen fill.
