The Taber Irrigation Impact Museum focuses on the impact of irrigation on Taber’s development. It showcases the irrigation systems and processes from early labour-intensive methods to the current computer technologies that growers use. Through the efforts of pioneer settlers and workers such as the Okamotos, and the constant modernization of irrigation systems, Taber continues to have a thriving agricultural industry with abundant production of crops such as sugar beets, pulses, beans, and the famous Taber corn.

We will work with you if you wish to bring your own facilitator for special training or interests. We are located close to Smith, AB, about 2 hours north of Edmonton. Our retreats are held to give you the opportunity to relax in nature for the weekend. We have many self guided activities as well as campfire games available. You choose what you want to do, while we cook, clean, and take care of you for the weekend.
Step into Sherwood Park's first fire hall and RCMP Station! Explore pioneer-themed exhibits enhanced with unique historical vignettes. Our village square, modeled after a rural community, is the heart of the museum. Exhibits which include a general store, pioneer kitchen, one-room school, parlour, church, barbershop, Aboriginal room, and blacksmith and woodworking shop line the perimeter of the Square. Featured special exhibits change regularly and include private collections from local residents.
Experience the wonders of the Maligne Canyon from the ground up. Your guide will lead you safely along the frozen canyon floor through its maze of fascinating ice sculptures. Explore the entrance to a cave system, ice caves, fossils and towering frozen waterfalls stretching over 30m up the canyon walls.
