Dinosaur Provincial Park Provincial Parks

Alberta’s got lovely weather, but 75 million years ago, the Badlands were a subtropical paradise. We’re talking palm trees, enormous ferns and humidity. The only things stopping it from being a prime spot for sipping cocktails out of coconuts were the lack of homo sapiens and all the enormous reptiles. Today, the provincial park is ripe for active exploration.

  • Did you know: More than 150 full dinosaur skeletons have been unearthed in Dinosaur Provincial Park. More than 50 species have been discovered. No wonder it’s been designated a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
  • Dig it: You can literally search for, and often find, real dinosaur bones here. You need this in your life, like, now.
