Skyline Luge at Canada Olympic Park on the outskirts of Calgary is a unique wheeled gravity ride that provides the rider full control over their descent on a purpose-built track. The braking and steering system controls speed and direction – it’s easy to learn and is suitable for people of all ages and abilities. With more than 50 twists and turns, covering a distance of over 1,800 m (5,900 ft) on a continuous downhill trajectory, the Skyline Luge is the longest in the world and is certain to get your heart racing. Look down. Way down. The Beaver River Trestle, at one kilometer long and 60 metres high, is a highlight of the Iron Horse Trail. It is accessible from Cold Lake via three km of the multi-use Trail. Or you can drive to the west end by turning north off Highway 28 at the Y Road and parking at the trail access point. The 300 km Iron Horse Trail connects many of the area’s natural gems and tourist attractions. ATVers use the Iron Horse Trail to access countless kilometres of backcountry trails and cutlines that weave through the region’s rugged terrain.
The Wapiti Nordic Ski Club is one of Canada's premier cross country skiing and biathlon facilities. It is home to the Steve Cooper Lodge which was completed in 1994 as one of the major legacies from the 1995 Canada Winter Games. There are over 35kms of trails for both classical and skate skiing, which includes the Weyerhaeuser Forest Trail. The club has the longest night skiing trail in Alberta - 4.5kms of lit trail. There is also a 5km out and back snowshoe trail. There are two trails for those that love to ski with their dogs.

The Plaid Goat MTB Festival is 3-day cultural celebration revelling in the mountain bike stoke of the Canadian Rockies. The weekend will include a main expo/festival, bike demos for Demo-licious Days wristband holders, group rides, a craft beer tent, km's on end of great Canadian Rockies singletrack, a bike rodeo and a few surprises! The aim of the Plaid Goat MTB Festival is to support an annual regional reinvestment program that will give back to groups dedicated to enhancing mountain bike trails across the province via the creation of a Ride the Rockies Regional Trails Fund.
