Skyline Luge at Canada Olympic Park on the outskirts of Calgary is a unique wheeled gravity ride that provides the rider full control over their descent on a purpose-built track. The braking and steering system controls speed and direction – it’s easy to learn and is suitable for people of all ages and abilities. With more than 50 twists and turns, covering a distance of over 1,800 m (5,900 ft) on a continuous downhill trajectory, the Skyline Luge is the longest in the world and is certain to get your heart racing. 60,000 square feet of indoor riding. B-LINE Indoor Bike Park is Western Canada's largest indoor bike facility. There's terrain for every level, from the beginner to the expert. Like ski hills, the areas are marked with green circles, blue squares and black diamonds to show difficulty. The beginner area is a great place for kids on run bikes, or to warm up your muscles before moving on. They have lockers in a change room (bring your own lock), cubbies and a large area with many picnic tables. Once you are warmed up you can progress to the pumptracks, jumplines, the miniramps, the Big Air Room, or the Foam Pit! Fun for the whole family and close to Deerfoot and Memorial Dr SE and 1 block away from the Marlborough C-Train Station. Every Tuesday is ladies night which includes discounted admission and rentals and sections for riding that are ladies only. If you can pedal a bike, you'll have fun at B-LINE. Sept. 8, 2018- DV100 Race or Ride is a cycling race/ride through breath taking West Central, Alberta. Participants can register for 40km, 100km, 160km, team event or the corporate challenge. The race begins at the Drayton Valley Omniplex, Alberta and heads west where riders view mountainous vistas, dense forests and historic oil boom communities. There is $25,000 in cash and prizes up for grabs. This race/ride is for everyone from beginner cyclists to olympians. The DV100 is an annual fundraiser for the Drayton Valley Community Foundation. After you finish your ride you can enjoy the shower amenities, a massage, the near by museum, parks, walking and hiking trails.Then you can finish the night off wth the DV100 after party with mouth watering food and live music. Tickets must be pre-purchased.
The ITU World Triathlon Series will once again be returning to Edmonton in 2018, welcoming everyone from Elite athletes to first-time participants.
