Plain of Six Glaciers, located near Lake Louise in the Canadian Rockies, offers a high mountain trail with sweeping glacier and peak views. Beyond the shoreline of Lake Louise, travellers follow a scenic path into a natural amphitheatre of towering rock walls, hanging glaciers and rugged summits. Along the way, they can pause at a quaint, seasonal Swiss-built tea house to rest, warm up and take in the alpine scenery. Hikers can link the Lake Agnes and Plain of Six Glaciers routes via the Highline trail to create a 14.6 km loop, typically taking about four hours. This connected route lets visitors experience two classic viewpoints in a single outing, with time to linger at lookouts and savour the quiet of the high country.
