Glacier Discovery Centre

The Columbia Icefield Glacier Discovery Centre sits across the Icefields Parkway from the ancient Athabasca Glacier. That makes the centre easy to find and the glacier easy to admire. The centre is home to interpretive exhibits, scenic walks and self-guided trails that teach you all about the glacier. It’s also the departure point for tours to the nearby Columbia Icefield Skywalk. Visitors can also book a trip on one of the massive Ice Explorer vehicles that travel onto the glacier. You'll also find a restaurant,cafeteria, an extensive patio and a gift shop. Those who want to extend their stay can book a room at the Glacier View Lodge, a boutique hotel with front-row seats to view the glacier and superb stargazing opportunities.
