Gaetz Lakes Sanctuary

Loading...

The Gaetz Lakes Sanctuary, originally protected in 1924, is Alberta's first and oldest Federal Migratory Bird Sanctuary. Explore our 300 acres and five kilometres of walking trails. The Sanctuary's forests, grassland, and wetlands are home to dozens of waterfowl and songbird species, deer and moose, foxes, and coyotes. It is also the "backyard" for the Kerry Wood Nature Centre; Central Alberta's home for natural history and environmental education.
