Here's a campground that offers the best of both worlds—it's located right at the end of a thriving Main Street. But it’s also only a block from the centre of the Village of Alix. You’ll find restaurants, hardware and grocery stores, a pharmacy, a bank and fun shopping in the thrift and antique stores, all a short walk away. Of course, there’s enough outdoor activity to keep you happily occupied at the campground. You can launch (and dock) your boat while basking in long summer days of swimming, waterskiing, wakeboarding, kayaking, or canoeing. You'll find the necessary amenities, such as firepits, a beach concession, washrooms, showers, 11 powered sites and tenting/non-powered sites. Take the 6 km (4 mi) trail along the lakeshore and spot the abundance of waterfowl and wildlife that call Alix Lake home. And, if the sticks are calling you, head to the nearby Haunted Lakes Golf Course for nine holes. Find the Alix Lake Campground 54 km (34 mi) northeast of Red Deer.
