Come cheer the world's best cross-country skiers in Canmore! The Alberta World Cup Society, based in Canmore, will be hosting the first North American stop of the COOP FIS Cross-Country World Cup. This exciting event, held at the Canmore Nordic Centre Provincial Park, is comprised of a series of sprint and distance races. Many activities will be taking place during this event: Opening Ceremony: February 8th at the Canmore Civic Centre. An Art Walk in the Woods: Enjoy taking an "Art Walk" along the Legacy Trail, from Downtown Canmore to the Canmore Nordic Centre, co-sponsored by the Town of Canmore. The COOP Mini World Cup: Children 12 and under are encouraged to take part in the Mini World Cup course on Saturday, February 10th. Fast and Female Power Hour: Girls from 8 to 14 years old can sign up to participate in an afternoon of activities. Don't forget to visit the Nordic Market, featuring several Nordic skiing brands, sponsors of the events and local not-for-profit! Several fan zones will be in place to animate the competitions! The Adopt-A-Nation program with the help of local schools will provide artwork for all to enjoy at retail stores in the Downtown core. With limited parking, spectators can use the free shuttle service from downtown or alternatively walk to the Canmore Nordic Centre while enjoying the Art Walk on the Legacy trail!
