Think hoodoos are only found in Southern Alberta? Think again. Visit Sundance Provincial Park, located just north of Highway 16 between Edson and Hinton, and take in the Sundance Valley and its stunning sandstone “hoodoos of the north”—just a 1 km hike along the Wild Sculpture Trail. Established as a provincial park in 1999, Sundance is part of the Northern Rockies District. Its 9,000 acres also include the beautiful Emerson Lakes network (and campground), an extensive trail network, a variety of native and stocked fish species, and the Marl Fen. This provincially significant site is home to many rare plants, including a dozen different species of orchid.
