Waiparous Creek Campground

Waiparous Creek Campground sits in the foothills of the Rocky Mountains, about 50 km (30 mi) northwest of Cochrane. You’ll find it in Waiparous Creek Provincial Recreation Area. The campground has 53 unserviced sites and is open from early May to mid-October, although an extension into November is possible if the weather is good. The basic amenities include pit toilets, firepits, free firewood and a picnic shelter. Water is available from a hand pump on-site, but you should bring your own drinking water just to be on the safe side. Many campers are drawn to the area to hit the trails in their OHVs. There are several trails nearby and registered campers can offload their vehicles at their campsites and drive them to the trailhead. Waiparous Creek Provincial Recreation Area also offers good hiking and fishing.
