Loading...

The 1,100-metre TOTAL Aboriginal Interpretive Trail in MacDonald Island Park features public art installations created by Western Canadian Aboriginal artists, local artists, and regional school children. The Sacred Teachings Project consists of seven sculptures reflecting teachings central to Indigenous culture – wisdom, love, humility, courage, honesty, respect, and truth. Another project on the trail is the Miquwahkesis project, featuring 28 fiberglass foxes that were hand-painted by local artists and children. This showcase is unique in the Wood Buffalo region and offers visitors a chance to celebrate the culture of Indigenous peoples.
