Ram Falls Provincial Park

This scenic campground gets its name from Ram Falls, a breathtaking waterfall that plunges 20 m (65 ft) to the sandstone riverbed. A lookout platform provides an excellent view and gives visitors a true sense of the waterfall’s power. The waterfall is the main attraction, but there are plenty of other things in the park to keep you occupied. It’s an excellent place to see wildlife, as bighorn sheep frequent the area. The park also offers fishing, hiking, biking and geocaching. A large picnic shelter and a smaller picnic area with fire pits and benches make the park a good place to spend a day. Just note that there is no drinking water or firewood on site, so plan in advance. You’ll find it all 65 km (37 mi) south of Nordegg in the foothills of the Rocky Mountains. The road to the park is gravel and can be a bit rough. Cellphone reception is also very limited in the park, so it’s best to print out a map rather than rely on your phone for navigation.
