James-Wilson Provincial Recreation Area

James-Wilson Provincial Recreation Area offers a quiet and scenic camping experience, located 40 km west of Sundre along the Forestry Trunk Road (Highway 734). Surrounded by natural forest landscapes, this recreation area is well-suited for visitors seeking a peaceful outdoor escape. Guests can enjoy a variety of activities, including hiking through the area, fishing in nearby waters, or accessing OHV trails located outside the recreation area. To help preserve the natural setting, OHVs must remain on trailers while within the recreation area. The campground features approximately 15 spacious campsites, thoughtfully tucked into the forest between the James River and Wilson Creek. This intimate riverside setting makes James-Wilson Provincial Recreation Area an ideal destination for those looking to relax and reconnect with nature.
