Fish Lake Provincial Recreation Area
Fish Lake Provincial Recreation Area in Alberta’s West Country offers lakeside camping, paddling, and trails, giving travellers an easy foothills escape. Just 6 km west of Nordegg on Highway 11, then 2 km south on an access road, this recreation area sits on a scenic foothill lake also known as Shunda Lake. Campers can set up tents or park RVs in the campground and wake up steps from the water. Visitors can canoe or boat with an electric motor on the stocked lake, try for rainbow trout, or cool off with a swim. Nearby trails invite hiking and mountain biking, and there is access to off-highway vehicle routes in the area, with OHVs required to stay on trailers within the recreation area itself.
