Fallen Timber North Campground

Burnt Timber Provincial Recreation Area, nestled along Highway 1A then north via Hwy 40, offers a quaint and shaded retreat amid Kananaskis Country’s foothills. With 30 unserviced campsites—some accessible by vehicle and others ideal for walk‑in tent camping—the campground is especially inviting on warm days, as a cool creek meanders right through the site, perfect for swimming or tubing. Open seasonally from May 1 to September 8, sites run on a first‑come, first‑served basis with nightly rates at $40. Visitors will find essential yet rustic amenities: firepits, free firewood, vault toilets, and water from a hand pump—though bringing your drinking water is recommended.
