Meet Brenda Mercer at the Saamis Tepee to share in storytelling and Indigenous culture. An interactive and conversational experience where Brenda will share her story, the history of the Saamis Tepee, and the land it sits on, show guests how to smudge and pick Sage, guide a traditional Indigenous craft, and bring everyone to the nearby Saamis Archaeological Site, which used to be a late winter, early spring camp. Brenda Mercer is Dakota Sioux from Standing Buffalo Nation and currently lives near Medicine Hat, while sharing her culture, her story, and remembering her ancestors.
