This year they kick things off on Monday, January 20th with our Supper & Song featuring the recent Project Wild 1st place Champion Mariel Buckley at the Heartwood Cafe. Tuesday Hannah Epperson makes her Medicine Hat debut in their first VIP Kiln Event of the week. With her violin, loop pedal and voice, Hannah has the capacity to get lost in the design of her own worlds without ever leaving her audience behind. Wednesday is Medicine Hat's very own, Kyle Church. Kyle is garnering tremendous attention with the phenomenal talent to captivate an audience. Kyle’s laid back personality translates smoothly to the “easy listening” nature of his music, and his storytelling at live shows is usually equally as light and humorous as it is deep and thought-provoking. Thursday's VIP Kiln Event brings Leeroy Stagger for an intimate and acoustic evening, sharing songs of Love and Life. Fresh off a European Tour, this is a rare opportunity to a Canadian phenom up close and hear why everyone is following the music of this fine troubadour. Friday evening is the culmination of the Singer-Songwriter night team's hard work throughout the year. These artists of all ages are mostly local talent that are sure to catch your attention. Saturday of course is our Big Day! With 4 stages running throughout the day, including Brett NelsonLogan MckillopJustine VandergriftDave McCannPatrick Spencer of Cold Water RoadTwo Late To The PartyLet's not forgotten about our famous Headlining Gala Saturday evening. Starting your evening will be the familiar sounds of local legend Derek Hintz. This time he's bringing some of his friends to get everyone warmed up and excited for the amazing evening. Then comes the travelling sensation DRFTR. DRFTR is the one-man creation of singer/songwriter Oscar Anderson-Shortt. His soaring, soulful voice is tinged with R&B his songs honest, intimate and from the heart. His music is best described as feely folk- all about emotion. Closing out the evening is the legendary Maria Dunn. Twice Juno-nominated Maria Dunn is often compared to Woody Guthrie for her keen social awareness and her melodic, unvarnished songs about the lives of working men and women.
