With its spectacular mountain views, the Historic Cochrane Ranche Site is the original site of Alberta's first large-scale livestock operation established by Senator Matthew Cochrane in 1881. It’s now a year-round public park space, spanning 136 acres, complete with picnic tables, fire pits and an outdoor stage. The historic Westerson Cabin hosts a variety of free nature, culture and heritage demonstrations on Saturday mornings (late May to August) during the Farmers Market. The ranche is also home to the Cochrane Historical Museum, which is open seasonally in the summer.
