McLeod River Campground

You’ll find McLeod River Campground 23 km (14 mi) southeast of Hinton on the Robb Road. The campground is a great base for anglers, hikers and those who want to explore the McLeod River Recreation Area. Trails run along the banks of the McLeod River and the McLeod River Silviculture Trail is a beautiful interpretive walk and also popular with mountain bikers. The campground has 51 unserviced sites and is open from mid-May to the end of October. Firewood is available on-site. There’s also a water pump, but campers should bring their own drinking water. McLeod River Recreation Area has a day-use area along the river, making it easy to cool off on a hot day. It’s also easy to launch a canoe or kayak. Just keep an eye on the water levels—at times of high flow, the McLeod River is challenging and popular with advanced paddlers.
