Experience over 900 animals, representing more than 120 species from five continents! You’ll love knowing that every visit helps protect endangered animals, both at the zoo and in the wild. The 120-acre zoo is organized by distinct zones: Canadian Wilds, Destination Africa, Land of Lemurs, Penguin Plunge, Dorothy Harvie Botanical Gardens and ENMAX Conservatory (including the butterfly garden), Eurasia, and Prehistoric Park. The Wilder Institute/Calgary Zoo is operated by the Calgary Zoological Society, an independent not-for-profit organization that is Alberta’s oldest registered charity and is internationally recognized as one of the top zoos in the world for conservation research.
