Wetlands Centre

Located at Evergreen Park in Treaty 8 territory near Grande Prairie, the Wetland Centre offers a unique, hands-on environment to explore boreal forest and wetland science. Managed by Ducks Unlimited Canada’s National Boreal Program, the site serves as a collaborative hub for education, research, and innovation. Through outdoor demonstration areas, visitors can learn about environmental stewardship, habitat conservation, and sustainable practices in action. The centre brings together Indigenous rights holders, industry, researchers, educators, and the public to share knowledge, address challenges, and develop solutions related to wetlands. Boreal wetlands play a vital role in filtering water, storing carbon, and supporting diverse plant and wildlife habitats. The Wetland Centre highlights their importance while fostering collaboration and learning in one of Canada’s most ecologically significant landscapes.
