There are a lot of reasons why Wabamun Lake Provincial Park is a popular summer destination. For one, there’s the convenient location, about 70 km (45 mi) west of Edmonton. For another, there’s a host of things to do. And, finally, there’s the fact that Wabamun is relatively shallow, and its waters are relatively warm. Wabamun Lake Provincial Park also has a well-appointed day-use area. Visitors will find drinking water, flush toilets and firepits. Those who want to head out on the water can take advantage of the boat launch and life jacket loaner station. The day-use area also includes change rooms, a playground, a pier and firepits. Wabamun Lake offers great fishing, water skiing, sailing, paddling and swimming. It’s also a popular spot with birders. If you want to extend your stay, book a site at the campground in the park.
