Veterans Memorial Gardens & Interpretive Centre

Veterans Memorial Gardens & Interpretive Centre is a half-acre pocket garden and interpretive space honouring more than 100 soldiers killed in action, along with the stories of local and regional heroes from Northwestern Alberta. Murals, memorials, and immersive storytelling bring history to life in a powerful and meaningful way. The grounds feature themed tributes including the Women of War Memorial, 2nd Construction Battalion Memorial, WWI Internment Camps Memorial, Residential School Memorial Garden, and Indigenous-focused memorials, with more stories continually being added. Amenities include a Jamaican canteen and approximately 1,000 square feet of meeting space. The Centre also hosts Indigenous Veterans Day and cultural experiences such as Beading a Soldier’s Story with Canadian Indigenous MotoTourism Association.
