Vermilion Provincial Park is located in east-central Alberta, Canada, in the County of Vermilion River. It is located on the outskirts of the town of Vermilion which is at the junction of Highways 16 and 41, between Edmonton and Lloydminster. The Park runs along the Vermilion River and offers excellent back-country hiking and biking trails that weave through aspen stands that are thick with Saskatoons. Bird watching is very popular here as both river, wetland, and forest species are present. The Park also houses a rich history of the railway line, including an old caboose that serves as 'take-a-book, leave-a-book' library in the summer months. A large, fully serviced campground is also available here, complete with a mini-golf and splash park. Paddling on the reservoir is also a common activity for locals and visitors.
