Sent by Copilot: Experience your inner cowboy or cowgirl while exploring the backcountry of the majestic Canadian Rockies! For over 100 years, The Trail Riders of the Canadian Rockies (TRCR) have led beginners and seasoned riders into this spectacular backcountry, offering a dream vacation. TRCR, a not-for-profit club, takes guests to explore these majestic mountains with the comforts of home. The breathtaking beauty of the Canadian Rockies awakens the adventurer in all of us. This “walk in the park” is unlike any other. Unlike most backcountry horseback trips, the Trail Riders set up a main base camp. At the end of each day on the trail, they return for “happy hour,” a hot home-cooked dinner, and some much-needed rest in cozy tents and Indigenous-style teepees with cots and mattresses. The rustic wilderness camp features a hot shower, hot washing water, separate washing areas for cowboys and cowgirls, and a large dining tent for 4-star meals. Evenings include campfire singing, cowboy poetry, square dancing, storytelling, educational talks, skits, and live Western music. After a week of this fun and frivolity, you will become a member of this historic and Western cultural society.
