The Lingnan
The Lingnan in Edmonton serves Chinese favourites in a family-run restaurant where visitors can taste a piece of the city’s culinary history. Opened in 1947, it is Edmonton’s oldest Chinese food restaurant. Its long-standing menu includes cashew chicken, ginger beef and the restaurant’s own mix of chop suey, giving travellers and locals a choice of familiar dishes shaped by decades of service. The Quon family continues to run the restaurant, carrying its story from one generation to the next. Their lives as restaurateurs were also featured in a Canadian documentary series, adding a personal connection to every meal and a glimpse into the people behind this enduring Edmonton dining room.
