The Legacy Centre

The Wildfire Legacy Centre is a testament to the strength and commitment of the Slave Lake Region. It is an important aspect of the region's recovery from the 2011 wildfires that caused more than $700 million in damage. It is the home of the Slave Lake Child Care Society (Daycare) and the Slave Lake Elks Lodge No. 379. It provides a venue for concerts, plays, banquets, weddings, and audio-visual presentations. A Fire Smart interpretive area describes the 2011 wildfires and the recovery effort with video, artifacts, and FireSmart information.
