Since it opened in 2016, Ten Foot Henry has been a Calgary favourite and a staple on “best of” lists, including Canada’s 100 Best Restaurants of 2020. Its vegetable-centred menu makes this restaurant a great choice for vegetarians (although there are excellent meaty options too) and a dream come true for husband-and-wife restaurateur team Stephen Smee and Aja Lapointe. Their vision is to bridge the gap between what you should eat and what you really want to eat. A charming spot filled with hanging plants, Ten Foot Henry is in Calgary’s vibrant Victoria Park community in Beltline, just south of downtown. It serves weekend brunch until 2 pm, as well as and quick bites and coffee from daytime cafe Little Henry. The restaurant takes its name from a Calgary icon, a 10-foot-tall replica of a 1930s comic strip character who was a muse for Calgary’s creative community in the 1980s.
