50 minutes north of St. Albert, just off Highway 2, the scenic Tawatinaw Valley Ski Hill offers a variety of recreation opportunities. With nordic trails and downhill runs for every experience level, the ski area is a hidden gem. From the quiet lift lines to the challenging terrain park and fun tubing area, Tawatinaw offers a great place for families to gather. Covering 140 acres and with a vertical height of 250 feet, the downhill ski area has a terrain park, beginner to black diamond runs, two t-bars, and a beginner hill with a carpet conveyor lift. The trail system offers over15 kilometres of groomed classic cross-country ski and snowshoe trails for all ability levels. Enjoy the beautiful valley views as you glide along! The ski and snowboard rental shop hosts a fleet of new Elan skis and snowboards for you to try. Visit the chalet restaurant for a variety of in-house-made hot meal choices and snacks, and enjoy watching the action from a licensed lounge area or expansive deck.
