If you love going off on a tangent when exploring trails, this campground is the perfect staging area. Explore the 40 km (25 mi) of the Tangent Trails by foot, bike or even horseback (but you have to bring your own mount). You'll find beautifully treed and open meadow landscapes. At the Tangent Park Campground, enjoy the view from the banks of the mighty Peace River. Catch some fish, discover the playground or start friendly games at the horseshoe pit, volleyball net, mini-golf course, or baseball diamond. Or find the enclosed gazebo, where a stage and dance floor invite those ready to make merry. There are 55 sites and 3 group areas, a kitchen shelter, horse watering stations, showers, a concession, and an on-site laundry room. Flushable toilets and numerous outhouses are also throughout the park. To get here, drive 24 km (15 mi) south of Peace River on Highway 740 (Shaftesbury Trail), then take the free ferry ride across the Peace River.
