Stoney Lake Municipal Recreation Area & Campground

Stoney Lake Municipal Recreation Area & Campground, located near Elk Point in Alberta’s Lakelands region, offers wooded campsites with privacy and lakeside access. Pioneer Park is the theme of this natural facility, with large, treed stalls that feel tucked away in an undisturbed forest setting. The natural topography separates the quiet camping area from the livelier beach and activity centre, so guests can choose between peaceful downtime and time by the water. Travellers will find 45 powered stalls, a sandy beach area, shower facilities, a tenting area and a boat launch for getting out on the lake. Families can enjoy the playground equipment and a large day-use area, plus a gazebo for group gatherings and an outdoor bandshell that adds a community feel. Nearby hiking trails and fishing opportunities make it easy to spend full days outside.
