Starland Recreation Area

Starland Recreation Area, in Alberta’s Canadian Badlands, offers riverside camping and easy Red Deer River access for relaxed paddling and fishing. Canoeists often pull in here as they travel the Red Deer River, taking advantage of the convenient river access for boat launching and shoreline fishing. The campground features 50 campsites, with additional overflow and group camping areas that work well for families, paddling clubs or casual gatherings. On land, visitors can stretch their legs on a short hiking trail that winds through the scenic valley setting. Three ball diamonds, a playground and a gazebo create plenty of space for unhurried games, picnics and evenings around camp, making it a comfortable base between days on the water.
