St. Mary Reservoir Provincial Recreation Area

St. Mary Reservoir Provincial Recreation Area in Spring Coulee, 55 km southwest of Lethbridge on Hwy. 5 and 5 km northwest on Hwy. 505, offers lakeside camping and water sports with wide-open views of the southern Rockies. Travellers can sail, windsurf, water ski, canoe and fish on the broad reservoir, then stretch their legs on a short interpretive loop trail that highlights the local landscape. Campsites are suited to both RVs and tents, many with power and shaded by mature trees for comfort on sunny prairie days. Some sites back directly onto the water, making it easy to launch a boat or enjoy quiet shoreline time steps from camp. The setting combines prairie openness with mountain vistas, creating a relaxed base for exploring this corner of the Historic Plains region.
