The largest museum of its kind in the world, the Remington Carriage Museum tells the story of horse-drawn transportation in North America. The Remington Carriage Museum started with a donation of 48 carriages from Don Remington, a local man who restored and collected horse-drawn vehicles. His donation is the nucleus of what is now one of the world's finest museums of horse-drawn transportation, with over 330 vehicles in the collection. The museum features interactive displays, horses, a gift shop, a working restoration shop, carriages, wagons, sleighs, and fun activities for the whole family. A visitor information center is located inside the museum. The museum offers guided tours at no additional cost. Carriage Rides will be offered in July and August. Enjoy a ride through the Lee Creek Valley in a Park Touring Carriage. Rides are approximately 15 minutes long. They offer discounted rates for group bookings of 15 or more when booked in advance. Guided tours for groups are subject to availability: please book at least 7 days in advance to ensure you have a guide. To book your group contact the museum. The facility is wheelchair accessible. Service animals are permitted in the museum. Free onsite parking is available and accommodates buses and RVs (recreational vehicles). A picnic area is available year-round free of charge.
