Police Outpost Campground

Located within Alberta’s southernmost provincial park, Police Outpost Campground is nestled in a tranquil poplar forest roughly 10 km south and 23 km west of Cardston. The campground offers 46 well‑spaced, unserviced sites that accommodate both tents and RVs, surrounded by a serene natural setting. Open seasonally from early spring through autumn (with reservations accepted up to 90 days in advance), each site includes a firepit and provides a partial sense of privacy under the leafy canopy. Visitors can enjoy a range of lakeside activities—from fishing and canoeing to birdwatching and lakeside hiking—plus a boat launch, fish‑cleaning station, playground, pier, and basic amenities like vault toilets. Water via a tap is available but not safe for drinking or cooking, so bringing your own is recommended. A modest sewage disposal service is available for registered campers. This campground offers a peaceful and scenic base for quiet outdoor adventures and wildlife escape.
