Enjoy the great outdoors without sacrificing a good night’s sleep. Comfort camping at Pigeon Lake Provincial Park is the easy way to rough it 108 km (67 mi) southwest of Edmonton. The eight yurts are round, insulated structures that sit on wooden decks. Cross-ventilation keeps them cool in summer, and electric heaters take the chill off autumn evenings. It all means that campers get the best of both worlds — the luxury of a sturdy shelter and the experience of sleeping in the woods. The yurts vary in size and sleep four to eight people. All the structures feature real beds, lights, kitchen tools and a fridge. The yurts are all accessible and have private decks and barbecues. The campground sits on the shores of Pigeon Lake, which offers fishing, swimming, sailing, paddling and waterskiing. A boat launch makes it easy to get out on the water.
