Peace River Museum Archives and Mackenzie Centre

Peace River Museum Archives and Mackenzie Centre in Peace River offers exhibits on local history, helping visitors connect with the region’s past. Inside the museum, travellers can explore stories of early explorers, the fur trade and First Nations history, along with the development of the Town of Peace River and the nearby Shaftesbury Trail. Exhibits highlight how the community has grown and changed over time. The archives focus on the wider North Peace Region, preserving documents, photos and records that showcase local heritage. New exhibits are presented three or four times a year, giving returning visitors fresh perspectives on the people and events that shaped this corner of Alberta.
