Park Lake Provincial Park

Park Lake Provincial Park, located near Diamond City in southern Alberta, offers a lakeside beach, water activities and trails for a relaxed outdoor escape. This historic irrigation reservoir, built in 1929, is ringed by open prairie and quiet wetlands that invite slow exploration. Visitors can spend the day swimming from the sandy beach, casting a line from shore or boat, or catching the breeze while windsurfing across the water. Hikers and mountain bikers can follow trails through grassland and along the lakeshore, watching for shifting light and wide prairie skies. Birders are drawn to the mix of wetland and open water, where pelicans, red-winged blackbirds and many other species make their home through the warmer months.
