Pembina Rotary North Loop
Pembina Rotary North Loop near Fitzgerald offers a gentle climb to an escarpment with a scenic view of Salt Pan Lake. Along the trail, hikers can discover sinkholes, fossil outcrops and the Keg River geological formation. These features reveal a landscape shaped by geology and invite curious travellers to slow down and take a closer look at the ground beneath their feet. At shallow, salty Salt Pan Lake, watch for salt-tolerant plants growing along the edges, including red samphire and seaside plantain. An interpretive trail guide is available at the park Visitor Reception Centre, adding helpful context to the route’s distinctive geology, fossils and plant life.
