Ryutaro Nakagama opened Nakagama’s in 1947, serving mostly Japanese Canadians living in the area. Today, Nakagama’s serves many customers from different ethnicities, backgrounds, tastes, and lifestyles. The store contains Japanese groceries as well as plenty of giftware. Staff offer friendly advice to help you make a simple Japanese dish or a full-course meal. Nakagama’s carries Japanese foods, a wide array of ceramic dishware, tea sets, and sake sets as well as fans, dolls, chopstick sets, key chains, cell phone charms, and origami paper.
