Métis Crossing Campground

Métis Crossing Campground sits within the Victoria District National Historic Site, along the banks of the North Saskatchewan River, on original Métis river lot lands that predate the province of Alberta. The site preserves the heritage and history of the Métis people while offering a peaceful home base for the surrounding Cultural Heartland. Campers can choose from 21 powered RV sites, five tent sites nestled along the treeline, or eight traditional trappers' tents for a simple night under canvas. Every site includes access to flush toilets, communal showers, picnic tables, and a fire pit, with firewood available for purchase. Please note there is no water fill or sewage dump station on site; both are available a short drive away in Smoky Lake. Reservations are recommended, and campers are welcome to take part in on-site cultural programming, walking trails, and Indigenous-inspired dining at the Cultural Gathering Centre throughout their stay.
