McLeod River Provincial Recreation Area

McLeod River Provincial Recreation Area in Yellowhead County offers riverside camping and picnicking with easy access to fishing and paddling. Located 23 km southeast of Hinton on the Robb/Hinton road, this quiet recreation area has camping areas on both the north and south sides of the McLeod River. The south side features a picnic area right on the riverfront, giving visitors an easy place to relax, watch the water and enjoy a meal outdoors. Spacious, treed sites along the river provide a comfortable base camp for a day of fishing or a peaceful overnight stay. Travellers can launch a canoe into the river for a gentle paddle or stretch their legs on the short forestry interpretive trail on the east side of the campground, learning more about the surrounding forest landscape as they go.
