Long Lake Provincial Park is 133 km (83 mi) northeast of Edmonton, but its natural setting feels a world away from the hustle and bustle of city life. It's popular with day-trippers, but you can spend some more time here if you book a camping spot. There are more than 200 sites (unpowered and powered). Plus, there's a nearby golf course and trails for hiking and mountain biking. The lake is also popular with power boaters, water skiers, paddlers and sailors. If you don’t have a watercraft, you can rent a canoe, kayak or paddle board at the day-use area. The fishing is plentiful and the clear water is relatively warm, making it ideal for swimmers. Winter brings ice-fishing and cross-country skiing to the park.
