Little Fish Lake Campground

Little Fish Lake Campground is uniquely situated to let campers explore prairie grasslands and the badlands. You’ll find the campground in Little Fish Lake Provincial Park, about 40 km (25 mi) southeast of Drumheller. (Don’t confuse it with Fish Lake, which is in the foothills.) The campground is a little off the beaten track, so it’s a quiet spot. The 10 unserviced sites are suitable for tents or RVs, but they cannot be reserved. Little Fish Lake Campground runs on a first-come, first-served basis. Firewood is not available, and campers must bring their own drinking water. Once you get settled, head out for a hike through the grasslands (watch out for cacti). Hand Hills Ecological Reserve sits at the north end of the lake. It’s a great spot for birdwatching, with more than 130 species recorded.
