Jarvis Bay sits on the east side of Sylvan Lake, one of Alberta’s most popular summer playgrounds. Jarvis Bay Campground sits within Jarvis Bay Provincial Park, 27 km (17 mi) west of Red Deer in the central part of the province. The accessible campground is a bit removed from the hustle and bustle of Sylvan Lake, making it a peaceful place to unwind after a busy day. It has 192 sites with power and one with both power and water. The family-friendly campground has two playgrounds and provides access to the provincial park’s extensive trail network for biking or hiking. An onsite store sells camping staples and ice cream. Of course, peace and quiet only goes so far. When it’s time to check out Sylvan Lake’s big beach, with its shops, go-kart track, mini-golf and Wibit, you’ll love that it’s just 7 km (4 mi) away.
