Hutch Lake Campground
Hutch Lake Campground is the perfect place to pitch a tent and explore the area around High Level in northern Alberta. The chief attraction is, of course, Hutch Lake. It was built in the late 1980s to supply water to High Level. Today, it’s a popular spot for day-trippers and other adventurers. The lake sits in the shadow of Watt Mountain, which means the hiking and cross-country skiing are both excellent. The area is also a hotspot for quadding and snowmobiling. A large day-use area at the lake makes it easy to soak up the sun or go for a swim. The campground has 21 unserviced sites that can accommodate large RVs or tents. It has a dock, boat launch and horseshoe pits. There is no WiFi or cell reception. Hutch Lake Campground is a cash-only operation that is open from mid-May to September 30. There is a caretaker on-site.
