Highwood Meadows Trail

Loading...

For the most current information on trail closures and advisories, please visit the Alberta Parks website. The Highwood Pass road, which provides access to this trail, is closed every year from December 1 to June 14, making the trail inaccessible during those months. In Peter Lougheed Provincial Park, you’ll find the highest paved road in Canada at an altitude of 2203 m / 7239 ft. At the summit of the highway, you’ll find the Highwood Meadows trail, a short and easy trail with views of alpine meadows and mountain peaks. The 0.6-km, one-way trail begins with a boardwalk over a fragile alpine meadow and leads to spectacular mountain views. You’ll find the trailhead at the parking lot of the Highwood Meadows Day Use Area on Highway 40. Distance: 1.2 km / 0.75 mi / Return Elevation: None
