Harvie Passage Whitewater Park

Loading...

Harvie Passage is a beautiful riverside recreation spot on the Bow River in southeast Calgary, tucked beside Pearce Estate Park in the Inglewood neighbourhood. It’s a welcoming place to cool off, float, picnic by the water, or simply enjoy a sunny day outdoors. The Passage has two channels: the right, or south, channel offers gentler Class 2 whitewater where most people play, while the left, or north, channel carries much stronger Class 3+ water and is not recommended for casual users. Built areas around the river invite people to picnic, relax, or dip their toes in, and the whole area can be reached by floating downriver or by walking, biking, or wheeling in from Pearce Estate Park. In summer, visitors can take advantage of a free life jacket loaning station, as well as porta-potties and change rooms for convenience. While it’s a popular spot to gather and play, Harvie Passage is still a live river with fast currents, rocks, and slippery surfaces, so caution and a properly fitted life jacket are always recommended.
