Hangingstone Campground

Hangingstone Campground is located near the Hangingstone River, 35km south of Fort McMurray. Camp amongst the trees at this campground with basic facilities and sites suitable for tents or RVs. Campsites are unserviced and are each equipped with a picnic table and firepit. Drinking water is available in the campground from a hand pump. Additional amenities include a playground and a picnic shelter. Firewood may be purchased on site from Park Rangers when they are present. This is a smaller campground perfect for those looking to enjoy rustic camping. Other recreational opportunities are available at nearby parks, which are easily accessible with a short drive: Gregoire Lake Provincial Park, Maqua Lake Provincial Recreation Area, and Stony. Bring along your binoculars for sighting raptors and other songbirds in the treetops and for star gazing after dark.
